Konstantina is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Prior to obtaining her doctoral qualification in counselling psychology with the University of East London she completed an MSc in Mental Health at King’s College in 2005, and a Bsc in Psychology in The American College in Greece.
She has gained a wealth of experience working for the NHS and the private sector, including the Priory London, amongst other private hospitals, offering both one to one and group therapy of CBT, DBT, Mindfulness and schema approaches.
The approaches she used in my practise are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT), Mindfulness Based CBT, compassionate Focused approach, Schema and Psychodynamic therapy.
She uses her training experience and expertise to offer brief evidence based therapy as well as longer term therapy when needed. She treats difficulties such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, low self-esteem, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Self- harm, impulsive behaviors, Gambling, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), substance Use, eating disorders, Body image difficulties, work related stress, panic attack, GAD, Health anxiety and relationship difficulties.
She is an empathic, non-judgmental therapist and aims to empower clients to achieve the change they wish in their life. She is very passionate about her work and the biggest satisfaction through her work is to support her clients through their journey and to see them achieve their goals in therapy, and acquire valuable coping skills.
Konstantina is also experienced in providing psychodynamic therapy and in teaching mindfulness and compassion-based approaches. Her aim is to guide her clients towards a life with less self-criticism and self-judgement and thus reduce emotional suffering. She is also experienced in facilitating assertiveness and anger management workshops.
Konstantina has a special interest in working with patients with a history of traumatic experience such as abuse or rape, which have resulted in PTSD.
Online therapy via Skype is available and her doctoral research focused on the therapeutic relationship in online therapy.
Konstantina is also a qualified fitness instructor and believes strongly in the benefit of exercise on Mental Health- Healthy body & Healthy Mind. She specialises in High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and leads weekly classes. She encourages her clients to follow a balance healthy lifestyle.
Konstantina is trained in CBT, DBT, MBT, mindfulness based therapy, I have experience in schema therapy and psychodynamic therapy. In my clinical practise I use an integrative approach and I draw from my training and my experience to adapt my skills and therapy modalities to the individual needs of the person.
