Julie Ward's approach

Jules is an HCPC registered Integrative Art Psychotherapist, currently working both within an NHS adult secondary care psychological therapies service and in private practice. She champions the use of creative therapies and is a member of the MAD network of practitioners in Kent.

Jules is experienced in working with complex mental health difficulties, including personality disorders, psychosis, PTSD and trauma related issues, ASD and ADHD, depression and anxiety disorders. Jules comes from a corporate creative background and often works with blue chip companies providing experiential workshops and talks on executive stress management and productivity with an holistic bent. She has experience working with co-morbid, body dismorphic disorder, bipolar disorder, hoarding and behavioural issues, gender, sexual and relational issues including survivors of domestic abuse.

“Creativity is like a direct line to the unconscious, it facilitates a means to communicate deep issues in a contained and manageable way. Most are surprised at how quickly this can happen. You don’t have to be good at art, a poet or a creative genius to benefit from this treatment modality, to be human is to be creative and sometimes talking is just not enough.” Art psychotherapy offers an effective alternative to traditional treatments for all manner of mental health difficulties, and Jules is an approachable and trusted facilitator.
