I am registered with the General Medical Council with a license to practice. I trained in various subspecialties in psychiatry and hold a Specialist registration in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
I am appointed by the Secretary of State to assess and to make recommendations under the Mental Health Act England.
I have laudable experience in the Assessment and Management of Mental health conditions relating to children and young people. As a child psychiatrist I work closely with a multidisciplinary team and liaise with pediatrics, social services, school, and allied professions.
I use internationally recognised diagnostic tools and evidence-based practice to assess and diagnose Affective, Behavioural, and Neurodevelopmental conditions.

Bio

Over the years I have been working with children, young people and their families optimizing mental health. I assess children from age 6 onwards to a young Adult and aware of the trajectory of Mental health conditions on their development, social and academic aspects. I can recognise comorbid physical health conditions impacting on the developing brain of young people.

My perspective is that every individual and family is unique and possesses different strengths and difficulties. Therefore, during my assessment, I endeavor to undertake a holistic approach using biological, psychological and social models to devise a management plan. I work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive outcome for the child and family. So psychological therapy, family intervention and Medications are combined as necessary to help the child and young person achieve their full social and academic potential.

Recently I decided as recommended by a friend to have a ADHD assessment. Much to my amazement I was diagnosed with ADHD. My whole life suddenly felt very normal for the first time in what felt like forever.

Very efficient and easy to book, super quick to get an appointment

The psychiatrist I spoke to made me feel seen and heard for the first time in my life. I always felt like an oddball when explaining my symptoms to a g.p. Yet, today I was made to feel understood. I cannot thank him enough for his help today. To realise it wasn’t all because I was a bad kid, it was because I have autism and a.d.h.d. Has made me feel compassion towards myself instead of shame.

The process was so straightforward and simple. I wish I had done this sooner. All the years of anxiety and feeling different, changing myself to fit with people. I could cry with relief. I've suspected for years but still doubted that an assessment/diagnosis would clarify things, more just say I needed to concentrate or pay attention. However, it explains everything and I feel freed and validated for the first time in my whole life.
