Time frames to expect for your repeat prescriptions - Ordering and receiving
Up to 10 days from order to receiving: Please expect to wait up to 10 working days from the time you submit your request and pay for your prescription. This allows us enough time to ensure that the Consultant is available in clinic to review you request, write and send your prescription to your chosen pharmacy via post.
Don’t Run out! Consistency is essential for any medical treatment, so please try to leave enough time when requesting a prescription to ensure you do not run out. It is vital for you to order your repeat prescription in enough time before you are due to run out to prevent any disruption to your medication regime. Please be aware that the length of your prescription is at the doctor’s discretion and will be discussed with you at your appointment. However, we can only provide 30 day’s worth of medication at a time for controlled drugs (i.e., for ADHD medication).
Ensuring your pharmacy has your required medication: To save delay in receiving your prescription, it is very important to check before ordering your prescription with us that your pharmacy of choice has this medication stocked and that you are aware of the costs involved.
Need a repeat prescription urgently? In the event of an emergency, we will always do our best to accommodate and support you if you run out of medication, especially for controlled medications where the pharmacy will not prescribe without receiving the original prescription. Once you have requested and paid for the prescription with Psymplicity here on this page, you can give us a quick call to highlight the urgency of this and ask the team when the clinician is next available to facilitate the request. Please always still allow for postage times. We send all our prescriptions via Royal Mail recorded delivery. However, Psymplicity cannot be held liable for Royal Mail service delays. Please contact your chosen pharmacy periodically to check if they have received your prescription.
*** Please be aware that Psymplicity work with 2 online dispensaries who can courier your Medication to your door once they have received a hard copy in the post from us. Please note that there is an additional fee for this service that the dispensary will charge you. However, this service can help ensure that you get the prescription delivered to your door next day. If you require this service, please ensure you make this clear when ordering your prescription.
Ongoing care and reviewing your repeat requests:
Titration period – Titration is when you are first prescribed medication and the dosage is reviewed and adjusted depending on your response to it. The consultant would need to see you in an appointment monthly until you are considered stable on the medication, which means the medication is working well for you with no adverse side effects.
After the first 3-month period:
Once you and your doctor agree you are stable, review appointments will change to every 3- 6 monthly, unless otherwise specified by the consultant.
The consultant may now be able to prescribe more than 30 days at a time, this will be at the discretion of the Consultant and type of medication prescribed.
Please note that there is no guarantee that you will be provided with a prescription by Psymplicity. The issuing of any prescription is at the sole discretion of your consultant and is also subject to the limitations of the Psymplicity medical team.
At the time of receiving your repeat prescription request, it may be that your psychiatrist asks you to book an appointment to see them before they will send you a repeat prescription. Where this is the case, Psymplicity will contact you as soon as we are notified by the Dr to book in a review appointment with you this will then depend on your availability and willingness to book and pay for a review appointment. All appointments with the consultants are chargeable. All prescriptions issued outside of appointments are chargeable.
Prescriptions are charged at a standard rate of £50. If you would like to book a follow-up appointment or review appointment instead, please call us on 0207 118 0407 and your prescription will be included in the appointment cost.
